What I Offer
“The true story of every person in this world is not the story you see, the external story. The true story of each person is the journey of his or her heart.” ~ John Eldredge
During the journey into adulthood (and even during adulthood), I believe every human being has had their heart wounded in some way. While this brings similarity to our collective experience, your path to healing is as unique as you are. My approach is to work collaboratively with you to customize a plan of action that fits your needs, helps you build resiliency and grit, and gain essential skills to navigate through your situation and beyond. As your counselor, I take an active role in the therapeutic process by encouraging you, challenging you, and providing you tools to help you succeed. I use Structural Family Therapy and Attachment Theory as my two main guiding approaches.
Individual Counseling
Anxiety is ranked as the number one mental health issue in America today. Many individuals feel uncertain about their future or feel stuck in their stage of life. They often lack the knowledge and strategies to effectively navigate these challenges. Through individual counseling, you will learn how to use tools like the E.A.S.E model of change - Empowerment, Acceptance, Shifting, and Engagement. If you are ready to take the first step on your journey to healing and wholeness, call or click on the "Contact Me" button and schedule your appointment today.
Counseling for Men
For many men, their identity is tied up in what they do, not who they are. It often creates a performance-based personality where accomplishments are prized and emotions are minimized or avoided. The problem is when life throws a curveball and the usual way of responding no longer works, many men feel lost or powerless. I provide a place where you don't have to pretend. You can be real and raw in a shame-free, judgment-free zone. When you are ready to have someone walk with you on your journey, give me a call.
Marriage Counseling
All relationships have an ebb and flow. Somedays you feel close and connected. Other days, you argue and feel emotionally distant from each other. However, it is when the distance continues and repair attempts fail that couples can get into trouble. Resentment, bitterness, and negative interpretations of each other can all grow from unresolved conflict and pain. My approach to marriage counseling strengthens relationships by addressing ineffective communication patterns and unresolved emotional wounds. I teach conflict resolution skills, and create ways to rebuild trust. I work with couples at all stages of their relationship, providing the tools and guidance needed to foster a deeper connection.
If you're ready to start your journey towards building a better relationship, I am here to help. Contact me today to learn more about relationship therapy and how I can assist you.
Financial Coaching
Money related concerns are continually named as one of the most stressful topics for individuals and couples. Whether single or in a relationship, a person's view of money often originates in their family of origin. For example, one parent might have been the "spender" while the other parent was the "saver" and they frequently argued over the role of money in their relationship. Whether money caused conflict between the parents or the parents worked well together regarding their finances, the child learned messages about the role of money and how it should be viewed. These lessons often accompany the individual into adulthood. Hence the need for Financial Coaching!
Financial Coaching is a relatively new addition to the world of counseling and therapy. It focuses on the relationship between our financial behaviors and our "money scripts", those beliefs we have about money. It is not the same as financial planning or advising. The goal of Financial Coaching is to help a person think, feel and act differently regarding money to improve their overall well-being. I am a Certified Financial Wellness Coach™, a Certified Financial Therapist Level 1 (CFT-1™) – Candidate and an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC®) - Candidate, so if you find yourself feeling anxious or unsure about your financial situation, contact me today to learn more about Financial Coaching and how it can help.

What is the cost of a session?
Sessions are $165.00 for the standard 50-minute "counseling hour." Should a session run longer than the 50-minute time frame, the cost is adjusted accordingly.
Do you accept insurance?
I accept all United Healthcare PPO plans except those administered by UMR. I am out-of-network with all other insurance providers.
Do you provde a Superbill to those who still want your services but are out-of-network?
YES! I can easily provide a Superbill upon request. The Superbill will contain your mental health disorder diagnosis code and the appropriate CPT code so you can submit for reimbursement with your insurance provider.
Is marriage / relationship counseling covered by insurance?
No, marriage / relationship counseling is not covered by insurance.
I don't want to use insurance because I don't want a mental disorder diagnosis on my medical record. What do I do?
Many people feel this same way so they elect to pay out of pocket for services. By using this method, the therapist is not mandated to give you a diagnosis because insurance companies are not running the show.
